  I used to wear Givenchy: L'Interdit. I still have Obsession by Calvin Klein but I haven't worn any fragrance for a long time because so many people are allergic to it.

  My husband wears Polo. I first bought it for him when we first got married. My son bought Blue Jeans last year. The salesgirl assured him that it was much like Swiss Army (which my daughter wears). He threw it out. It reaks!! Hopefully no one mentioned wearing that.

  I do have a hand wash though and I love the fragrance: lemon verbena

  Almost forgot: Grace you could always right click on this thread with mouse and create shortcut to your desktop. That way you always have it handy.

  Many, many years ago I heard PDQ Bach playing Bach. It was hilarious. This is all I could find. There are some funny moments in it but nothing like the version I heard. I'm sure it's not easy what they are doing, but then I wouldn't know.

  Watched TV evangelists for the first time today

  i was flipping through the channels while doing cardio and i decided to hear what a couple of these people had to say.

  while i've determined that i'm agnostic, this one guy was pretty good...he was practical and funny.

  he made the bible seem more like a good self-help book than a "book laws to be obeyed or else you'll die".

  I used to watch Charles Price years ago but the programme is on while I'm at church. I don't watch too many evangelists on TV. I realize that we each have different personalities but some turn me right off. We were actually warned about Peter Popoff which surprised me but that kind of preaching greatly offends me. Each Thursday at work between 9am-2pm I do listen to WDCX out of Buffalo. I like especially like Dr David Jeremiah and Adrian Rogers.

  moments ago, i talked to my mom.. i told her that i was taking some time off from going to meetings and service.. the conversation went down hill from there.. as her usual she just dismissed my reasons as if they meant nothing.. i pointed to the child molestations as my main reason for leaving.. "you are being over-sensitive", "jehovah takes care of things in his own time", "rely on jehovah".

  those were the catch phrases of the conversation.. a new one was: "what have you been reading?".

  i have a hard time standing up to my mother.

  Hi RCrusoe: I don' mean for metaspy to isolate from people. I don't think that would be a good idea. But just to take a breather from his mom especially, since she is the one that is putting so much pressure on him. As an outsider I may not appreciate this as much. Maybe for metaspy, and many x-witnesses, they don't have anyone else to go to other than the witnesses.

  I haven't read all the responses yet either but want to say that you need to listen to your own gut. Something is telling you that something is not right, namely the sex abuse coverup. Study for yourself, read the bible yourself and you will draw your own conclusions. To turn your back on the Org does not automatically mean that you have turned your back on God but that is how they intrepret it.

  This verse below helps me greatly. I hope it helps you. Don't argue with your mother, but remain loving. You could tell her you just need some space and time to reflect. I have personally found with my own mother that arguing doesn't help. She comes to me with her problems (an outsider), not her sisters. That says something about a loving org; that she can't seek comfort with them when she is going through a difficult time.
